NORDICEA is the flagship residential development of the Sommets de la Santé project near the CHUS – Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (Fleurimont). The first of three phases, it will include over 1,000 housing units. For this mandate, we were involved in all stages of the project. The building’s services include a swimming pool, spa, multi-sports hall, cross-fit gym, indoor golf course and restaurant. The complex also includes fat bike, snowshoe and cross-country ski trails.
The developer wanted to revive this site, which had been abandoned by another developer. To do so, he wanted to make this project the spearhead of his real estate portfolio. He asked Côté-Jean et Associés to provide the technical support needed to achieve his objectives. We were commissioned to provide structural and civil engineering support for all phases of the project.
As the site had already been worked on by another developer, we redid the redid the soil surveys to make sure everything was in order. We also design studies for the parking slab, as well as seismic analyses for the site.
The plans and specifications for this mandate were of vital importance to the success of the project, and had to reflect the developer’s determination to make it a flagship project for the region. During the construction phase, the entire team closely monitored the site and supported the client throughout the entire process. In addition, we provided significant support to the existing contractor, including additional management and supervision, given the scope of the mandate.
